Ebony Veneer

Macassar Ebony (diospyros celebica) is a wood that grows primarily in Southeast Asia. With its dramatic coloration Macassar Ebony showcases a dark brown to black heartwood streaked with bands of grayish-brown, yellow-brown, or pale brown.  Macassar Ebony has a mostly straight grain.  Due to the small size of the trees, Macassar Ebony can be difficult to sequence.  It is used for cabinetry, musical instruments, and ornamental inlay, anywhere where a dark and light banded wood will draw the eye.

Macassar Ebony is also known as Striped Ebony, Amara Ebony, Indian Ebony, Coromandel, and Timbruni.

Uses for Ebony include cabinetry, musical instruments, and ornamental inlay.

Macassar Ebony is available in 4’x8’ and 4’x10’ sizes, can be sequenced up to 3 sheets, and is available with multiple backing choices such as 10 mil, 22.2 mill (Bubble free) and Peel and Stick.
