Basswood

Basswood Veneer

Basswood (Tilia americana) grows in Eastern North America.   Basswood is a pale white to light brown color.  Basswood veneer grain is straight with an even texture and slight natural luster.  Basswood takes stain easily and finishes well.  Other names for Basswood are American Linden, Beetree, Whitewood, and American Lime (but has nothing to do with the lime fruit).  Basswood trees grow throughout the Northeast United States and Southeastern Canada.

Common uses for Basswood veneer include architectural panels, musical instruments, cabinetry, yacht and aircraft interiors, and doors.

Basswood Veneer is available in 4’x8’ and 4’x10’ sizes with a choice of backing that includes 10 mil, 22.2 mil (Bubble Free), or special-order PSA (Peel & Stick).
